About

As our beautiful Earth becomes more populated with a society that relies heavily on many portable, non-biodegradable products such as certain plastic bottles and metal containers, there are devastating amounts of litter scattered throughout the world. In order to do our part to make Earth a better and healthier place, we began our own litter clean up student organization, where we can each make a difference in our community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire students to take initiative through litter clean up in their community, to encourage a cleaner and prettier Earth for our society. We will provide students with the opportunity to serve independent of time and location, so everyone can make a difference.

The History of SCEP

In April 2020, three pre-medical students discovered they each shared the drive to serve their community through litter clean up and set their goal to create a non-profit organization. By visiting and cleaning various locations, the bags of trash began to  fill quickly.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many parking lots and parks were the only places seeing community traffic as many people followed the Stay-at-Home order. In the effort to stay healthy, many individuals began wearing masks, gloves, and using bottles of sanitizing solutions on a daily basis. This unfortunately led those items to being discarded throughout our beautiful community.

During their efforts they collected everything from used masks, gloves, discarded bottles, and cans. Although the organization is in the beginning stages of its history, a total of 14 bags of trash were picked up in only the first 25 hours of volunteering and there is still much more litter that needs your help to be cleaned up.

As pre-medical students, we understood that many students have the passion to volunteer for their community but find it difficult to find opportunities that fit in with their already busy schedules. That is where SCEP is here to help! With the ability to volunteer on a self-made schedule, the availability of locations and ability to help is endless and easy.

Our Vision

Our vision is to make our planet a cleaner and healthier place by encouraging student initiative through litter clean up in their community.
